The greatest love story should not come as a surprise

Created out of dust to be made in His own image

He placed man in the garden for us to manage

We then brought sin in the world trusting a snake in disguise

Sinning against our Guide on the way to paradise

Not even satisfied being saved from bondage

Manna is provided but still we claim a shortage

Turning to our own ways just leads to many cries

But great is His love for His children

Had nails in His son due to our wickedness

But the tomb was soon empty no matter the supervision

The greatest love story not just a religion

This relationship has granted me forgiveness

Has me walking in freedom on the road to heaven

Hey there! Thanks for reading this poem. This is the second poem I have ever written. I enjoy switching things up a little bit to please my creative side and also be able to really reflect on what I am trying to convey through the poem.

With this one I wanted to convey God’s amazing love but it turned into the simple gospel story. I created it in a way where everything is pointing to the scripture, but also hopefully in a way that can make you reflect on your own life. In this case mostly being Adam and Eve and the fall, followed by the Israelites and their stubbornness to follow God even when he is saving them from the Egyptians, and their enemies once they have already entered the promise land. God is always providing for them but they keep turning from Him and worshipping other idols leading to them crying out to God again when things don’t go their way.

It is easy to read these Bible stories and think dang these people were stupid, why would they keep turning from God like this? But isn’t this all of us? God provides in many different ways and we quickly forget and start living for ourselves again. We are all very flawed and wicked which is why this becomes the greatest love story ever when Jesus comes to die because we are a mess.

Christianity is unlike any religion. Other religions have a standard to be good, and try to earn salvation. But with Christianity we admit we aren’t perfect. We are flawed, but Jesus was perfect, and He took our sins on to the cross with Him, allowing for us to be freed of sin. If we believe that Jesus died for our sins, and repent of our sins we are granted eternal life. Simple as that. Just because Easter is over does not mean we stop reflecting on this great love story.

Was an up and down last week. But I’ll just reflect on the good things and what we did. Last week my team drove a couple hours away to help with a different ministry. We drove up in to the mountains to a couple villages up there that were very isolated. The one we spent the most time at was pretty small, in the middle of the mountains at the end of this pretty long rocky road with cliffs on both sides. We spent our time painting the inside and outside of the school there while also hanging with the children.

It’s hard for me to imagine that the kids living here have seen much of anything outside of their little village, I could be wrong though. These kids spoke a little Spanish but also some Mayan dialect making conversation interesting. However when our van pulled into their town it was really cool to understand a little bit of how God loves His children. When they see or hear the van kids start piling out of their places from every direction like moths to a flame. It was so sweet. A few would run alongside our van then be waiting outside of it for us to all get out and say the little Spanish that we know. These kids didn’t have a lot but they were so filled with joy. Which is a repetitive them on this trip, but always eye opening.

Thanks for reading. I am a little over $1,400 dollars from being fully funded which needs to be done by the end of the month….

Love you all! Jesus Loves You way more!!
