Here we are going into “month 5” and our third country. Before we get on a bus headed east on Wednesday I wanted to give my end of country wrap up for my time here in Guatemala.
Highlights
The first three highlights from my time here I have already talked about, so go search through past blogs if you missed them or forgot.
Uber Driver
Gifted a bunny
Community
April Fools Day was well something. Will be a day I think I am just going to let y’all ask me about. Great memory even though it was the biggest conflict our team really ever had.
The kids we got to work with were such a joy to be around three days of the week. I felt so loved by them on our last days there. Will miss them a lot!
Ministry
I have already gone over our entire schedule before so again go look at that for more details. Here’s the quick overview:
English classes
House visits
VBS
Discipleship days
Worship night
Soccer days
Some painting here and there. Put in a stove for a family. Worked at Eco Farms to pay the rent for Worship Room.
Biggest Areas of Growth
Learning to choose into today, ministry, people, etc. I have also talked about this multiple times.
Growing in conversation, maturity, and wisdom. Not that these are really measurable but it feels like it is true.
What I Have Been Surprised by
Noises with cannons, and bells. Guatemala is so loud!! Got noises everywhere.
How much we were invited into the community. This ministry is really amazing at loving people.
How much you can connect to kids without actually being able to talk to them all that much with the language barrier.
Where am I Currently Growing or Wanting to Grow
Imagination. I have felt like my brain is sort of in a box. So trying to break out of that and just be more imaginative. I am currently reading through the Chronicles of Narnia and loving it!! Highly suggested.
Continue diving further into my prayer life. This was a big area I wanted to grow here, but felt like I hit a wall and stopped diving in quite as much. So getting back to that will be big.
Prayer Requests
Team changes. We found out our new teams just a couple hours ago. So prayers that the team will gel well and choose each other daily. Things are about to look a lot different! Excited to tell you about it in the blog to follow possibly at the end of the week.
Endurance. Like I have talked about. Endurance is a big thing right now, and will likely only get more real these next couple months.
Health. That me and the rest of my squad will be healthy as we travel and remain healthy after a rough couple months here health wise.
Leaving Guatemala is tough!! I don’t typically have a super difficult time leaving places, but this past week has made things difficult. The relationships that have been built here are really special. This whole week everybody here as honored and loved on us really well. I am going to miss this place a lot! Love you Guatemala!!
Sorry, feeling a little bit lazy with this one, but I also covered a lot of it already. I will holla at you from Honduras soon!
Love you all a bunch! Jesus loves you a heck of a lot more!
