After I posted my introduction to Jaco blog Monday morning we got kicked out of the hotel lobby because it had been awhile since we had bought anything from them. So, we start making our way into town to find some food and more Wi-Fi. As we are turning left on to the main road, we notice a guy on the roof, with his bike, of the local ice cream restaurant (Pops). So naturally we stop as we realize this dude is about to jump off the roof on to the road. There are people on the road stopping cars from going by, so he has the room to take the jump. So off he goes… a very unfortunate video for us all to have captured.
This guy lands on the back tire of his bike and flips back slamming his head into the pavement… and he is out. After a second or two he starts seizing. This is on what is supposed to be our sabbath, or day of rest with the Lord. With me are my teammates Tymon, Daniel, and Annie. Tymon quickly turns to us and says, “this is what we are here for.” Let’s go right! God can use you at any moment even on days where you aren’t expecting to do ministry.
Tymon quickly jumps into the road to be close to this guy to pray for him as people are trying to wake him up. The three of us quickly jump behind Tymon and begin praying as well. I was directly behind Tymon praying and eventually this guy sits up appearing to be okay. He was bleeding from the head, and I am sure was far more injured than that, but he was awake.
I come to find out later that this guy woke up very close to the moment when Tymon put his hands on his head and said something along the lines of “in Jesus name, get up!”
I believe that God worked through Tymon and maybe all of us to heal this man. You may want to chalk it up to a coincidence or something else, but what I know is Jesus heals.
I have been in a place where I have felt as if God is not super close just hoping for a moment to see God and His glory. He has provided several moments along the way this past 1-2 weeks (and a lot longer than this) to show me He is far nearer than it can sometimes seem.
Jesus Heals!! Allow for Him to do just that. Whether it is emotional, physical or spiritual pain open up and be vulnerable putting yourself in a place where you can be healed. And PRAY!! The power of prayer is real fam!!
Much Love!!
